Hey, you don’t want to be paying too much attention to that Pauline girl in Pauline at the Beach (1983). She’s played by underage Amanda Langlet. But her older cousin Arielle Dombasle joins her on a trip to the Atlantic coast and ignores a fun surfer dude in favor of a creepy older hedonist. In a typically comedic turn from French director Eric Rohmer, the older cousin soon turns out to be a lot dopier than wise Pauline. Dombasle’s a classic beauty, though, and she shows off plenty of skin to go with that general incompetence.
