Almost all of the dozens of college-campus, sex-romp, outsider comedies patterned after the classic frat funny pic Animal House (1978) have one big difference from the original: The imitators are generally not nearly as funny, with one notable and glorious exception—Old School (2003). Wallowing in a crass and relentless humor capable of uniting the generations in gales of gut-busting, pants-peeing glee, Old School may not seem like much on paper (a trio of post-collegiate screw-ups sets up house next door to a college crawling with corruptible co-eds), but for once, hilarity does ensue.
