Review
Down-in-the-mouth Diane Keaton is prying into the lives of her daughters, trying to find a fit for her youngest young'un, and dying for a second coming of the orgasms she once knew in Because I Said So (2007), a tale of meddling-overlord mothers and the daughters who love them because they say so. Perfect-score Mandy Moore is the delicious daughter ma is desperate to hitch to a husband; dapper Diane is so pushy here, though, that it's enough to make even Mandy seem like a less-than-cushy catch. Mom goes behind Mandy's back to place an internet ad, and Tom Everett Scott and Gabriel Macht are the bachelors #1 and #2 who show up to compete for the honor of joining this mommy-whammied family. Piping-hot Piper Perabo and lovely Lauren Graham are the older, married sisters who round out the Keaton brood. Full of sex jokes and nightmare visions of a Mussolini-style mother-in-law, Because I Said So is, said critic Matt Pais, "the worst date movie since Saw III."
