Mondo Topless (1966) is the only documentary by the Maven of All Mammaries, Russ Meyer. It is, therefore, the greatest documentary ever made. Mondo assembles a skinternational array of strip-club peelers who, naturally, match the megaton top-heaviness of Meyer’s most iconic bra busters. One by one, the Baron of Bombastic Boobs films each undulating udder goddess go-go dancing in gazonga-quaking glory to swingin’ ’60s instrumentals. Some of the lactastic ladies hail from Europe, some from San Francisco. Each is a stupendous star in her own right . . . and left.
