Based on a bestseller by German scribe Andrea Sixt, the made-for-TV German melodrama Noch einmal lieben (2005) explores the fallout that occurs when an attractive young professional is diagnosed with malignant breast cancer. Nubile screen beauty Marie Zielcke stars as Andrea, a free-spirited young woman who’s determined to beat her illness. Turning initially to herbal and homeopathic remedies and finally to mastectomy, the defiant patient attempts to beat the odds and get back to the carefree, romantic life she’d grown accustomed to sharing with her hubby, Elias (Steffen Schroeder). Naturally Zielcke’s character spends a lot of time studying her afflicted anatomy in the mirror, offering viewers a chance to size up one of Germany’s hottest screen commodities.
