More heartrending and elegiac than most American teen comedies, the German television movie Die Nacht der Nächte - School's Out (1997) is a bittersweet coming-of-age story set on the eve of high-school graduation. As the teen students in a German preparatory school prepare for the challenges of adulthood, they find their relationships tested by unexpected hurdles. Stefanie Schmid is the only member of the knockout ensemble cast to drop her prom gown for a night of good lovin’, but classmates Rebecca Mosselmann, Anneke Kim Sarnau, and Jasmin Schwiers all look pretty fetching in their tank tops, swimsuits, and lingerie.
