The title Happy Endings (2005) is meant to be ironic or at least sardonic. In this quirky little movie about the secrets we all harbor, it is doubtful that any ending will come out happy. The crux of the matter revolves around the character of Mamie, a psychologist with a massage-therapist lover. All seems well until it is revealed that, in her youth, Mamie had a child with her gay stepbrother. The documentary filmmaker who appears on the scene tries to use this information to blackmail her, but Mamie proves surprisingly resilient. And true to form, Lisa Kudrow is skingy with the goodies. That nice nip slip, in other words, ain’t hers. It belongs to Anna Shemeikka.
