Teutonic hunk Til Schweiger plays a cyclist whose life is shattered by an accident in Phantom Pain (2009). Marc Sumner (Schweiger) is a charismatic loner who spends his life cycling through famous mountain ranges of the world. But his free-spirited lifestyle comes to a (literal) crashing halt when he is injured in a devastating collision. Back home in Germany, Marc must amputate his left leg after complications from the accident. With his career as a cyclist ruined, Marc sinks into a heavy depression, until his new lady love Nika (Jana Pallaske) gives him a new outlook on life.
