Part comedy, part I-Ching, Bull Durham (1988) has something for everyone and features quite a few baseball lessons disguised as life lessons and life lessons disguised as baseball lessons. Kevin Costner is catcher Crash Davis, who has been in the minor leagues for ages. He's sent to the lousy Durham Bulls to baby-sit pitcher Tim Robbins, who has more juice in his arm than his head. Both players fall for busty baseball groupie Susan Sarandon, who takes on a new player every season to be her designated hitter. There are hilarious meetings on the mound, brilliant spoofs of player interview fodder, and even some sexy rolls in the hay that'll put pine tar on your bat. This is a baseball movie for fans and non-fans alike. Stop lollygagging and see this film!
