Strangers can be creepy enough when they arrive singly. When a pair of unknown quantities, a male and a female, arrive on a young married couple’s doorstep, as they do in Her Name Is Carla (2005), the potential for sleaze and malevolence is immediately doubled, a potential that director/writer Jay Anania maximizes with mathematical certainty. Behind every biographical snippet offered by the overtly attractive but still unsavory interlopers lurks the shadow of deception and dirty motives. Seemingly innocent flirtation leads to a furtive seduction, but this pair of predators certainly will not be satisfied by a simple act of mate swapping.
