The popular sequel to an Austrian comedy made two years prior, Eine Fast perfekte Scheidung (1997) chronicles the continuing romantic foibles of Henny (Elfi Eschke) and Sigi (Andreas Vitásek). The film picks up with the lovers living on a sunny Italian beach and selling Viennese sausages to make ends meet. Life is relaxed and they’re happily in love, but because Henny refuses to get properly married in a German church, Sigi’s ex-wife (and his crackpot lawyer) is able to cause all kinds of comic complications for the couple. Happy-go-lucky Eschke keeps the screwball comedy interesting by flashing her delectable bits in a couple of irresistible bathing scenes.
