Anyone who has ever gone to high school and yearned to be privy to the shower-room secrets of the most-coveted girls on campus will be susceptible to the allure of The Cheerleaders (1973). Alternately known as The 18 Year Old Schoolgirls, this Paul Glickler-directed drive-in perennial offers graphic proof that the geeks among us missed two tons of wanton sexual fun during our final four years of public education. Remember those fantasies of perky-breasted nubiles thumbing their budding sexuality beneath the spray of a sputtering nozzle? That suspicion that a few really adventurous girls were practicing bedroom moves on one another? The sickening certainty that the cheerleading teams routinely gathered for massive orgies dictated by the coddled jocks? It was all true, and it’s all right here in The Cheerleaders.
