Jail makes for appealing bedfellows, especially a jail for leggy, stacked females that is situated in a humid and hot climate, necessitating skimpy clothing for the eye-catching inmates. Of course, the girls won’t warm up to one another immediately, as is the case in Black Mama, White Mama (1972), but when an African American goddess and a blonde icon escape the cruel confinement of their jungle encampment while shackled to one another, cultural barriers eventually come down. The girls pool their efforts to save their own skins and further the cause of banana republic revolutionaries in this raucous, shoot-’em-up mix of bounding racks and arch villainy.
