The bizarre low-budgeter Blood Theater (1984), a.k.a. The Movie House Massacre, spoofs horror films with a tale of an abandoned movie theater equipped with a killer popcorn machine. Strangely, though, only half the movie actually follows that storyline. While some employees of the Starlite theater chain try to reopen the scary cinema, the action keeps shifting back to a wild night at another Starlite movie house. The good news is that things are a lot sexier there, with Mary Woronov providing some kinky thrills as an assistant manager with a tendency toward fistfights. There are also plenty of hot cheerleaders looking for jobs--presumably because they’ve been warned about the killer popcorn in the other theater. Oh, and ticket taker Cynthia Hartline likes to take off her top for no obvious reason.
