The bizarre film La Sangre enemiga (1969) is a mix of artsy earthiness and good old exploitation, as former B-film director Rogelio A. González examines the miserable lives of a bunch of outcasts. The main focus is on the lovely Mercedes Carreño, who finds herself repelled and then strangely attracted to a misshapen macho man. You can’t fault the guy for trying, but you’ll also be grateful that Mercedes’s maracas are shapely enough to make up for the creepy guy’s constant presence.
