A washed-up attorney pours himself into high-tech forms of voyeurism in the chic German mini-series Das tödliche Auge (1993). Ulrich Mühe stars as Stefan, a disgraced lawyer who makes spare cash by blackmailing sexual deviants he records with a video camera. Most of Stefan’s targets are harmless offenders, but the stakes are radically upped when he stumbles upon an active terrorist cell. Mühe’s real-life wife, Susanne Lothar, stars as one of Stefan’s sexiest subjects--a perky blonde goddess who races around her apartment without a single stitch of clothing.
