A withdrawn gay man and a brash womanizer strike up a most unorthodox friendship in the critically acclaimed Dutch film Simon (2004). Cees Geel plays the eponymous hero, an ex-stuntman who helped shy Camiel (Marcel Hensema) take a walk on the wild side more than a decade before the dramatic action of the film elapses. Reunited after a lengthy time apart, Camiel learns that the free-spirited Simon is dangerously close to death, as an inoperable brain tumor threatens to derail his pleasure-seeking once and for all. Sadly Simon’s days are numbered, but the brash man leaves behind an impressive legacy of wooing women. Eva Duijvestein, Esmarel Gasman, Maria Kooistra, and a half dozen other Dutch dames flash flesh as objects of Simon’s affection.
