In the Dutch drama De Poolse bruid (1998), a naïve farm girl (Monic Hendrickx) leaves her Polish home in search of good fortune, but instead she becomes the slave of thuggish pimps. Fleeing in terror, the young girl has better luck with a merciful farmer (Jaap Spijkers) who persuades her to work for him for an honest wage. Unfortunately the pimps follow her to the farm, where they threaten and intimidate the innocent young lass. Good thing her hayseed is there to protect her--when he isn’t frolicking with the nude Polish lass, Spijkers does an adequate job of defending her honor.
