Stephen King himself wrote the script for this boob-tube adaptation of his novel, and it shows: The Stand is quality creep-out TV. The mini-series follows the post-apocalyptic adventures of the only survivors of a superflu epidemic that super-wiped-out humanity. Now the only people left are driven by freaky dreams to take up various good or evil schemes, finally coming together for a climactic showdown in Sin City.
