Set in 1975 during the outbreak of the Lebanese civil war, the political drama Die Fälschung (1981) stars Bruno Ganz as Georg, a journalist who is in Beirut because he is running away from a failing marriage. As he witnesses the Christian-Muslim and Muslim-Muslim fighting that is literally tearing the city apart, Georg finds himself unable to leave and is in fact drawn to the destruction. Gila von Weitershausen gives us a joyful moment in this fairly depressing plotline by exposing her mams and muff as she gets it on with her boyfriend. Ms. von Weitershausen will have you petting your Gila monster!
