One of the most sweetly wacked coming-of-age stories ever committed to celluloid, Louis Malle’s arthouse favorite Le Souffle au coeur (1971) follows a bourgeois teen’s eternal quest to score. When he’s not shoplifting and indulging in his dad’s cigars, Laurent (Benoît Ferreux) necks with girls and angles to be included in his brothers’ whorehouse excursions. During one of these trips, the youngster experiences some painful coitus interruptus when his siblings tear him away from the dazzling Gila von Weitershausen. Most famously, the curious youngster grows incestuously close to his foxy young mother, played by Lea Massari. The French temptress shows her lithe curves during a dip in the tub that visibly arouses her horny son.
