La Ronde (1964) is a remake of Max Ophuls's 1950 classic, but with one major difference. It stars Jane Fonda, one of the first major American actresses to appear nude in a foreign film. The story of several couples on a sexual merry-go-round was one thing, but when the movie was released in the U.S. it was promoted with giant posters in New York's carnal Times Square with Jane's naked ass in full view for all of Manhattan to ogle. Her all-American father Henry Fonda may not have been too pleased, but the rest of us got to experience hot Jane before she became Hanoi Jane.
