Prior to achieving small-screen stardom and garnering plenty of tabloid attention, Ally McBeal star Calista Flockhart starred as an aspiring artist’s muse in Pictures of Baby Jane Doe (1996). When waifish Jane (Flockhart) stumbles into the life of a would-be novelist and photographer, she unwittingly steals the neo-bohemian’s heart. But because Jane’s hooked on drugs, her connection with Horace (Christopher Peditto) can’t possibly last. Flockhart’s expressive performance is fascinating, but unfortunately the wispy beauty doesn’t flash any skin--an impromptu, provocative dance is the best that the actress can manage.
