Hemoglobin is thicker than H2O, especially in the father-daughter dynamic played out in Mary Mary, Bloody Mary (1975). An updated retelling of the vampire myth, this Mexican-made study in red casts an otherworldly beauty (the archetypal supermodel Cristina Ferrare) as a vampiric, lesbianic leading lady who is incapable of giving an orgasm without draining her lovers of life’s most precious fluid--and she bleeds them dry as well. Life might be nothing more than a refreshing bowl of crimson punch for lethal Mary, except that her dear old dad is on her trail. The girlie gore gobbler had better suck and run. Not only is Pop played by no-nonsense John Carradine, but he is also--like his daughter--a master practitioner of the dark arts.
