If you've been waiting for Ace Ventura 3, here's your movie.

Unfortunately, Jim Carrey doesn't do funny any more, so they hired a look-alike to impersonate him. And they changed the character to Carrey Plan B, the loveable loser from The Mask, instead of Carrey Plan A, the cock-sure oddball from Ace Ventura. Oh, yeah, and they made him an insurance investigator instead of a pet detective.

Dave Sheridan, the Jim Carrey impersonator in question, was quite funny as Officer Doofy in Scary Movie, and was hilarious as the mullet guy in Ghost World. He had better material to work with in those two movies. This one has a few moments, but is mostly cheap shots. It is barely watchable for genre addicts of screwball comedies. C-.
