Eric is a Finnish music conductor staying in a hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in Mika Kaurismäki’s short fantasy film Sambolico (1996). He meets a beautiful Brazilian girl (Andrea Bloom) and her boyfriend on the beach and finds out that she's really a hooker and her boyfriend is her pimp. Eric and the girl run off together, having fun in the streets and clubs of Rio while trying to escape the boyfriend. Then Eric wakes up alone on the beach. It was all a dream . . . or was it?
