Amongst the wave of porn chic in the ’70s, Sugar Cookies (1973) showed how an adult film could accommodate both hot sex and a compelling storyline. It was even originally rated X, although there’s no real hardcore action. Mary Woronov stars as the lovely lesbian out for revenge on a porn director who caused her lover’s death. Her plot involves seducing Lynn Lowry, in a double role as both Woronov’s former lover and her new replacement. Lowry and Woronov are an amazing duo, mixing it up in both an acting duel and some Sapphic sex scenes. This film is so good that you’ll even remember the plot after the lesbian lovers indulge themselves with plenty of baths and wrestling. Future adult actress Jennifer Welles also goes full frontal, but it’s kinda gratuitous.
