Stanley Tucci is a songwriter with one last shot at the big time in Four Last Songs (2007), a gently comic drama written and directed by Francesca Joseph. Stan has scrammed his homeland in favor of expatting around a Mediterranean town; he hopes that the spirit of a famed composer who once lived there will inspire him. He even begins to put together a concert in honor of his favorite music man, but a whole passel of people pops up to poop on his plans. Among them are the composer's muse-ical mistress, Emmanuelle Seigner, and his widow, Marisa Paredes. Then Jenna Malone shows up—she's the outcome of one of one-night Stan's one-night stands, and she's just tracked down her old man. Oh man! Poor Stan! Things get even more out of hand when the pianist he's recruited to put on the music cosies up to comely Ms. Malone. Four Last Songs also features Jessica Hynes as Stan's lady, Hugh Bonneville as a well-off feller, and Rhys Ifans as Hugh's brother, who's a real ne'er-do-weller.
