Penned in the fourteenth century, Giovanni Boccaccio’s The Decameron has long provided popular source material for smutty filmmakers looking for a muse. A collection of one hundred novellas addressing the bawdier side of human nature, the work is surprisingly modern in its treatment of sex, infidelity, and erotic passion. Director Piero Regnoli borrows liberally from Boccaccio with his sexploitation omnibus Giochi proibiti dell'Aretino Pietro, I (1973). Femi Benussi, Shirley Corrigan, Orchidea de Santis, Rosemarie Lindt, and Rosita Torosh all show ample amounts of skin as they cavort in tales evocatively titled “The Naughty Nun,” “The Trick,” and more.
