Southern-fried chick-flick Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (2002) goes backward and forward in time to slowly reveal the secret past of an aging Southern belle named Vivi (Ellen Burstyn and Ashley Judd) who formed a secret society with her circle of friends in childhood with a blood oath, but who now drinks too much and is estranged from her New York playwright daughter, Sidda (Sandra Bullock). One of the divine secrets of the sisterhood is that they don’t get naked, so you won’t need to get your ya-yas out.
