The Pussycat Dolls’ debut record, PCD, proved to be the gift that kept on giving when it hit the airwaves in 2005, spawning multiple singles that included the dance-floor hit I Don’t Need a Man (2007). The fifth single from the alluring burlesque-show troupe, written by lead singer Nicole Scherzinger, finds the girls primping and preening as they prepare to hit the town. After washing, buffing, and toweling their hair, nails, and skin, the Dolls launch into a pro-feminist chorus, replete with a slew of seductive dance moves. As Carmit Bachar, Kimberly Wyatt, and Scherzinger reveal hints of flesh, they make it clear that, while they might not need a man, men sure as hell need them.
