It’s 1972, and Jeremy Irons is a melancholy, repressed British ex-pat teaching high school in Pittsburgh. He does away with the planned syllabus and, instead, recounts the story of his hardship-filled youth in England. Luckily this is where the lesson switches from history to anatomy, when Lena Headey, playing Irons’s wife in the flashbacks, is rewarded with a solid T&A+ when she brightens up the bittersweet tale of Waterland (1992) with some sweet peeks at her Waterglands.
