Men, even the most worldly of us, are always surprised at the raunchy avidity with which women discuss sex, and that's why Slumber Party '57 (1977) has a built-in audience that includes every breathing heterosexual whose balls have dropped. The story is simple: A clutch of teenage women spend a single night at the tail end of the 1950s at a sleepover in a big house. None of the budding beauties wants to be the first one to nod off, so they stay awake by regaling one another with their cherry-popping tales. Two points that make Slumber Party '57 essential viewing: The picture was shot keeping in mind the giant screen of the drive-in theater, and one of these bragging sexual newcomers is portrayed by Cheryl "Rainbeaux" Smith.
