It stands to reason that the modern-day vampire would spend a large portion of time in strip clubs. These establishments are open all night, when darkness pervades, and they cater to a pasty clientele with which the sun-shunning bloodsuckers can readily blend in. Plus, the patrons tend to intoxication and a state of pie-eyed sexcitation that renders them susceptible to the ambush of fluttering leather wings. So the pole-dancer setting of Club Vampire (1997) is a logical extension of the Transylvanian myth. Hot flashes of Club Vampire skin pique prurient interests, and gushing gallons of gore keep the proceedings honest to the established traditions.
