Down-and-out rockers leave drugs and boozing for the peace and solace of the woods in the quirky American indie Mic and the Claw (2000). Weary of playing every night to legions of screaming fans, a pair of rock heavyweights (Michael Scott and Jon Jacobs) who’ve spent their careers hating each other’s guts decide to mend fences at a mountain retreat. A savvy, occasionally snarky commentary on the excesses and contradictions of the bloated rock ‘n’ roll dream, Kevin Hynes’s gleefully anarchic comedy also boasts a choice performance from sexy Arroyn Lloyd. The spunky blonde plays a forest-dwelling nymph who’s eager to please the heroes with her womanly gifts.
