Can one ever go wrong when John Waters is involved? Even though Pecker (1998) may not be about what the title would lead you to believe, the offbeat characters and sexual perversion are definitely worth the price of admission. A sandwich shop slacker finds himself an overnight sensation when pictures he's taken of his bizarre family make him the idiot savant of the art world. Called "Pecker" for picking at his food like a bird, he snaps pictures of the bizarre details that comprise his everyday life, from a little sister who eats bags full of sugar for dinner to an older sister who works in gay bar where teabagging is as plentiful as tropical drinks. Oh, and don't forget Baltimore's newest political controversy over whether or not a local lesbian stripper can or can't show bush. Throw in babes like Christina Ricci, Martha Plimpton, and Lili Taylor, and Waters makes Peckers everywhere snap happy.
