Mental magician Alex (Dennis Quaid) has a talent for entering and manipulating people’s minds during sleep in Dreamscape (1984). A government agency that is intrigued by his powers hires Alex to start a program that will ultimately help cure the President (Eddie Arnold) of his nightmares of nuclear devastation. When a test subject dies in his sleep from cardiac arrest during research, Alex suspects another psychic (Max von Sydow) of the killing and realizes that a conspiracy of world domination lies among his kooky colleagues (Kate Capshaw and Christopher Plummer) in the dream probe program.
