Fans of concentration-camp tales of sexual duress and carnal cruelty who don’t like Nazis and swastikas will find the perfect compromise in Ilsa, the Wicked Warden (1980). Uncompromisingly exploitative, Wicked Warden stars iconic reddish-blonde boob-stack Dyanne Thorne as an über-bitch commander of a Latin American lockup for deranged women. The camera work is clear and adroitly focused, the inmates make up for their wackiness with good looks, and the conflicts are primal and often resolved in the nude. Don’t expect much affection or friendliness in the sexual parts.
