This offbeat comedy series was basically a vehicle for its leading man Denis Leary, who was also involved in the writing and producing process. However, although The Job earned Leary a TCA Award nomination for Individual Achievement in a Drama, it didn’t last long and was cancelled after only nineteen episodes, two seasons, and little more than one year. Sometimes even a good supporting cast and popularity with the critics doesn’t help much. The story centers on messed up New York cop Mike McNeil (Leary) who has not only a wife (Wendy Makkena) but also a mistress (Karyn Parsons) and a frequent flirt at work (Diane Farr). To make matters worse, he also needs booze and pills to cope with his private and working life. No nudity, though Karyn Parsons is seriously sexy throughout an episode entitled Vacation which includes some excellent bikini and bra-clad scenes. Karyn has never actually been nude in front of Mr. Camera, but she sure has one hell of a rack so stay tuned for further skinfo!
