Jara (2000) is a touching and evocative tale of a young girl who is forced to grow by herself in the wild after her father is murdered by a group of sheep thieves. Living high up in the mountains, she hides by day, living off the land as best she can, and spies on other human beings by night. She eventually runs across Tanto, a local youth, with whom she falls passionately in love. Spectacular scenery and an original story make this a rich and beautiful experience. Olivia Molina exposes an unbelievable set of sweater puppets as she thrashes atop her man beside a babbling brook.
