Fisimatenten (2000), a.k.a. Just Messing About, is an "arty" German film focusing on the life of Edward (Tonio Arango), a thirty-two-year-old painter. Having secured a benefactor in the aptly named Poser (Maximilian Schell), who makes his money selling forged paintings, Edward is stuck in a creative rut; he paints over the same painting over and over, never satisfied. Not even the advances from sexy nude model Hanna (Alexandra Maria Lara) can inspire him. Poser's foxy girlfriend (Bettina Zimmermann) also strips down to black bra and panties. Edward's paintings are depicted in a stop-animation style that lends interest to this wacky film.
