Recreational drugs tend to muddle up everything they touch; not only is the individual partaker’s brain scrambled by over-indulgence, but society as a whole has its priorities and values twisted and subverted. The reversal of right and wrong wrought by the trade in illegal narcotics is nowhere more acute than in the law-enforcement community. Look at the befuddled and betrayed lawmen of Enemy Gold (1993). The narcs would seem to be making the best of a tough and dirty job, ambushing a gang of dope traffickers, capturing two and killing another pair. But nothing is what it seems in the cracked looking-glass world of drug enforcement. High-ranking government agents happen to be on the cartel’s payroll. Mayhem and murder would reign supreme, if not for the heroic and uplifting efforts from a team of law-abiding beauties who are every bit as pneumatic as they are dramatic. Bullets will fly, but prepare for special effects filled with bounce and body.
