Appearances are deceiving, thank God. If everything were as it appeared at first glance, then the poignant and prurient erotic thriller Mirror Images (1991) might be deprived of its compelling themes and stirring visual motifs. Even twin sisters cannot fully know what lurks at the core of their outwardly interchangeable sibling, which is why it's a risky proposition to assume the identity of your lookalike sis while she's out of town on business. Imagine the complications that would arise if this genetic doppelganger had struck up a more than casual relationship with a stalking serial killer and the murderously horny sociopath unexpectedly dropped by to chat and play naked psychodrama with the unsuspecting mirror-image sis. That's only a portion of the fun of Mirror Images.
