Prolific and terrific Spanish master of bloody, lusty, happy-making horror flicks Jesus Franco himself may have sealed a deal with the devil. How else to explain the continued fresh and fierce vision flexed while updating the hemoglobin-sucking legend in Vampire Junction (2001)? Franco moves his cinematic canvas from Europe to a small, isolated New Mexico town. The maestro populates his off-kilter landscape with sexually profligate nubiles and a freshly arrived lady doctor who becomes the target for a marauding demoness in search of a fresh host body. The corpse count rises as the battle rages for the good doctor's soul.
