After a lull following the demise of Dallas and Dynasty, producers Aaron Spelling and Darren Starr revived gawdy, bawdy prime-time soap operas with the Fox network smash Melrose Place. The show centered on a cadre of Los Angelinos who lived in the apartment complex of the title and loved nothing more than to date, defile, derange, and double-cross one another—in no particular order. The female cast members included veteran vixens Heather Locklear and Daphne Zuniga, breakout bombshells Marcia Cross, Josie Bissett, and Laura Leighton, along with a routinely ravishing array of stunning guest starlets, all of whom were forever up (and down) to the dirtiest of doings.
