La Pirate (1984) is another one of those French avant-garde films that aggressively make no sense. But wait--that doesn't mean it's bad. How can a movie that exposes every naked inch of flesh from hotties such as Jane Birkin and Maruschka Detmers be anything less than sextacular? The two play ex-lovers who are somehow reunited for some very hairy bedroom calisthenics. Then Jane's husband comes in and ruins the les-a-thon. There's a lot of screaming but even more bush, boobs, and buns. So tilt your beret at a rakish angle and grab hold of your baguette--this is what foreign films are all about!
