Review
From Russia with Love is also not my favorite Bond film. First, it costars the lovely Daniela Bianchi, but shows very little of her. Second, the Q toys are not very exciting. Last, and biggest, is that they shot much of the film in Istanbul, including several places I have been such as the Hagia Sophia and the Grand Bazaar, and managed to make this exotic and colorful city seem rather drab.
For those who might not remember the plot, SPECTRE has pitted the Russians and the British against each other, with the prize being a Soviet "Lecter" cipher machine. A clerk at the Soviet embassy in Istanbul is tricked into offering the machine to James Bond. I enjoyed this, even though it is far from my favorite.
