Based on a novel by Trainspotting writer Irvine Welsh, The Acid House (1998) is an anthology of three stories. The first, “The Granton Star Cause,” concerns a young man whose unbelievably bad day gets worse when he goes into a bar and meets a drunken foulmouthed God who turns him into a fly. The second, “A Soft Touch,” is about a man too spineless to complain when his wife moves in with his upstairs neighbor, and the third, “Acid House,” stars Ewen Bremner as a man who switches bodies with a newborn baby when he’s struck by lightning when tripping on LSD.
