A sassy sex comedy with a feminist streak, Giulio Berruti's Noi siam come le lucciole (1976) tells of a comely ex-courtesan who turns the tables on a trio of adoring suitors. After being sprung from prison, Lara (Silvia Dionisio) finds herself the prize in a fierce battle between three men. Sensing an opportunity to show them what life as a prostitute is really like, the clever young woman creates a scenario in which each of the men must experience humiliation if he hopes to win her hand. The set-up is only believable insofar as Dionisio’s the kind of dame whom men are willing to do anything for--all three of her smoldering nude scenes are irresistibly enticing.
