Regular Joes dream of scoring with beautiful pop stars all the time, but in the German comedy Sunshine Reggae auf Ibiza (1983), one lucky loser actually pulls it off. Karl Dall stars as Karl, a slow-witted farmer who decides to hightail it to Ibiza when he learns that his idol, Christa (Olivia Pascal), is planning a performance there. By a stroke of luck, a debonair millionaire who looks eerily like Karl (also played by Dall) is also visiting Ibiza, and a case of mistaken identity is all the farmer needs to snag a priceless shag. Because it’s glamorous Ibiza, there are plenty of delectable babes to go around--Jacqueline Elber, Bea Fiedler, Isa Haller, and Gudrun Velisek all contribute buff supporting performances, while Christine Schuberth is radiant in a more modest acting turn.
